Primer MEGA 009

Product description : Fast-drying primer for universal use indoors and outdoors, plastic-based.

Application: Indoors and outdoors. For fast and reliable priming of a wide variety of substrates, such as zinc, aluminum, anodized aluminum, copper, V2A steel, rigid PVC, polyester, wood, powder-coated and coil-coated components, among others. MEGA 009 Rapidgrund is equipped with active corrosion protection pigments to provide the necessary rust protection when used on iron and hot water radiators.

Application of Rapidgrund MEGA 009

Application: Roll and paint.

Note: Carry out a test coating and check compatibility.

Surface preparation: The surface must be dry, clean, and sound. Remove all contaminants such as grease, oil, or dirt as far as possible using suitable cleaning agents. Sand any old, firmly adhering coatings thoroughly.

Iron: Carefully derust.

Steel: If necessary, thoroughly remove the mill scale.

Zinc: Wash with ammoniacal wetting agent and apply MEGA 009 Rapidgrund twice.

Aluminum: Sand thoroughly until existing oxide and corrosion layers are removed and prime within a maximum of 6 hours.

Powder and coil coatings: Sand with a sanding fleece and then clean with nitrocellulose thinner. Apply a test coating.

Bare wood: Prime with MEGA 242 Protect wood protection impregnation in outdoor areas.

Hard plastics: Check for compatibility

Cleaning of tools: Immediately after use with MEGA 902 Universal Thinner.

Consumption : Approx. 120–160 ml/m³

Drying (brushable): At 20 °C and 50% relative humidity. Dust-dry: Can be recoated after approximately 30 minutes. With itself: Can be recoated after approximately 2–3 hours. With other paints: after approximately 6–8 hours. With 2K paints: after at least 48 hours.

Processing temperature : Do not process below +5 °C. Pay attention to dew and the temperature of the substrate. Low temperatures and/or high humidity will delay drying and lead to surface defects.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Ideal temperature: 10–25°C. Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture in the original, sealed container. Keep opened containers tightly closed and use promptly.

Disposal instructions: Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Only empty containers should be recycled. Dispose of containers with residues at the applicable collection point for old paint.
