Rapidgrund Spray quick and easy to use

For quick and safe priming of a wide variety of substrates such as zinc, aluminum, anodized aluminum, copper, V2A steel, hard PVC, polyester, wood, powder-coated and coil-coated components, etc.

MEGA 009 Rapidgrund is equipped with active corrosion protection pigments to provide the necessary rust protection when used on iron and hot water radiators.

Application (spray can): Remove the cap from the spray can. Shake the can thoroughly before use until the mixing ball is audibly moving. Continue shaking for at least 1–2 minutes after use and during use. Spray the contents in a crisscross motion from a distance of approximately 25 cm to avoid damaging runners and curtains. After use, turn the can upside down and empty the valve for 2–3 seconds. Do not spray on warm or hot surfaces.

Note : Apply a test coat and test for compatibility. Substrate preparation: The substrate must be dry, clean, and sound. Remove all contaminants such as grease, oil, or dirt as far as possible using suitable agents. Sand old, firmly adhering coatings thoroughly.

Iron: Carefully derust. Steel: If necessary, thoroughly remove mill scale.

Zinc: Wash with ammoniacal wetting agent and apply MEGA 009 Rapidgrund twice.

Aluminum: Sand thoroughly until existing oxide and corrosion layers are removed and prime within a maximum of 6 hours.

Powder and coil coatings: Sand with a sanding fleece and then clean with nitrocellulose thinner. Apply a test coating.

Bare wood : Prime outdoors with MEGA 242 Protect wood protection impregnation.

Hard plastics: Check for compatibility.

Cleaning of tools: Immediately after use with MEGA 902 Universal Thinner. Coverage: Approx. 120–160 ml/m³. Approx. 1.5–2 m² per spray can.

Drying (brushable): At 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Dust-dry: Can be recoated after approx. 30 minutes. With itself: after approx. 2–3 hours. Can be recoated with other paints: after approx. 6–8 hours. With 2-component paints: after at least 48 hours. Drying (spray): At 20°C / 60% relative humidity. Dust-dry: after 1–2 hours. Can be recoated: after 6–8 hours. Application temperature: Do not apply below +5°C. Pay attention to dew and object temperature. Low temperatures and/or high humidity delay drying and lead to surface defects.

General information

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Ideal temperature: 10–25°C. Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture in the original, sealed container. Keep opened containers tightly closed and use promptly.

Disposal instructions : Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Only empty containers should be recycled. Dispose of containers containing residues at the applicable waste collection point.

Hazard statements (spray can): Extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurized container: May burst if heated. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause drowsiness and dizziness. Harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

Safety information (spray can): If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wear protective gloves and eye/face protection. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C/122°F. Dispose of contents/container to an industrial incinerator. Contains: Acetone
