A sprayable, water-based universal primer based on a cationic acrylic dispersion, suitable as a water-based undercoat, adhesion primer, and sealing base coat. This primer reliably blocks wood constituents, water stains, and other paint-discoloring substances in the substrate to ensure a flawless finish. It can be easily overcoated with water-based and solvent-based (aromatic-free) topcoats and is characterized by excellent flow and a wide range of applications.
Characteristics:
Whether mineral or organic, ETICS or metallic, this Universal Quick & Easy Spray All-in-One Primer is a true all-rounder. It can be easily overcoated with all topcoats.
Indoors and outdoors. For efficient base coats in the Quick & Easy spray system, such as MEGA Quick & Easy 2.0 and 2.1. A water-based undercoat, adhesion primer, and sealing primer based on a cationic acrylic dispersion, with a very broad application spectrum. For use on wood (dimensionally stable and limited dimensionally stable), wood-based materials, MDF, OSB, melamine resin, gypsum plaster, plasterboard (also as a sealing wallpaper primer for large areas), non-ferrous metals (zinc and galvanized steel, copper), stainless steel and anodized aluminum, rigid PVC, glass and ceramic surfaces, earthenware/tiles (not in splash areas and on floors), powder coatings and existing coatings based on acrylic and alkyd resins, as well as on plaster, concrete, and masonry. Blocks water-soluble wood constituents as well as nicotine residues and stains from wax, tar, soot, smoke, grease, and dried water marks.
Binder base:
Cationic acrylate dispersion spec.
Weight: Approx. 1,270 g/cm³

RAL 7036 (platinum gray), approx. RAL 7040 (window gray). Special colors in the light and medium tones are available upon request.
Application: Spray, stir thoroughly before use
Substrate: The substrates must be free of dirt and separating substances, and dry. Observe VOB, Part C, DIN 18 363, Paragraph 3. The BFS information sheets of the Federal Committee for Paint and Property Protection, Frankfurt am Main, must also be observed during execution. Filled surfaces must be completely dry. Clean and sand old, firmly adhering coatings. Remove loose old coatings. Sand between coats with abrasive fleece, sanding pads, or fine sandpaper.
Drying: Iron and steel must be coated with a suitable corrosion protection agent before application. At 23°C and 60% relative humidity: Dust-dry: Touch dry: after approx. 30 minutes; after approx. 90 minutes. Overcoatable with itself: after approx. 5-6 hours. Overcoatable with topcoats: after approx. 12 hours. A test coating must be applied to coil coatings, powder coatings, anodized aluminum, ceramics, plastics, and other critical substrates. Adhesion must then be tested using a cross-cut test in accordance with DIN EN 2409.
Special notes: When cleaning absorbent surfaces, such as wooden surfaces, only use cleaning agents with a pH value of approximately 6.5 - 8, as otherwise the barrier properties of the cationic binder may be negatively affected. Under certain circumstances, brownish discoloration may occur in the topcoat. Commercially available, mild neutral cleaners are recommended.
The barrier effect against wood constituents depends on several factors, not least the layer thickness. Therefore, two coats must be applied to seal woods rich in constituents. Furthermore, a minimum drying time of 5-6 hours must be observed between coats. However, discoloration may occur in individual cases (e.g., with some tropical woods or knotty woods). Overcoating with other coatings can only be carried out after 12 hours at the earliest. A test coat may be required if necessary.
Compatibility: Do not mix with other materials. MEGA 061 Quick & Easy Spray All in One Primer is incompatible with other products. Clean tools thoroughly with water and/or MEGA 906 Quick & Easy Tool Cleaner before and after use.
Notes: Untreated wood in outdoor areas must first be treated with MEGA 242 Protect wood preservative. Afterward, protect it from moisture and recoat as soon as possible.
Coating system: As an adhesion-promoting primer: 1-2 generous spray coats. As a sealing primer: 2 generous spray coats. Finishing: With MEGA Aqualack white and colored paints, as well as all aromatic-free MEGA alkyd resin paints and emulsion paints, for indoor and outdoor use. Indoors, for surfaces not subject to mechanical stress, and outdoors, for components with limited dimensional stability that do not require blocking resistance, e.g., carports, wooden huts, roof soffits, etc., a top coat is not required, or the surfaces can be efficiently coated as a one-pot system with two spray coats without an additional topcoat.
Technical data
Dilution: Ready to use (dilution with water may impair the sealing effect)
Cleaning tools: Immediately after use with water and/or MEGA 906 Quick & Easy Tool Cleaner. Consumption: Approx. 100 - 150 ml/m². Determine exact consumption values depending on the project.
Spray data: MEGA Quick & Easy 2.0/2.1: undiluted HVLP devices: Nozzle 3 Pressure: 0.5 bar
General information
Application temperature: Do not apply below +8°C (ideal range 10-25°C). Pay attention to dew and object temperature. Low temperatures and/or high humidity will delay drying and impair the sealing effect.
Storage: Store in a cool, but frost-free place. Stir container thoroughly before use and reseal tightly after use. Shelf life in the unopened original container is approximately 1 year.
