High-quality, fast-drying, semi-gloss middle layer glaze based on alkyd resin, with very high long-term stability of the glaze film on dimensionally stable and partially dimensionally stable wooden components.
A wood stain for exterior and interior use
For dimensionally stable and partially dimensionally stable wooden components.
Ideal for use in the transitional periods of spring and autumn when generous drying is required.
Characteristics:

Processing:
Apply. Stir thoroughly before use. Apply undiluted, using a soft, long-bristled brush, in continuous strokes in the direction of the wood grain. All colors are intermixable. Do not use the colorless version outdoors. To assess the color, a test coat on the original wood to be treated is recommended.
Substrate preparation: The substrate must be free of dirt and separating substances, and professionally prepared. We recommend treating native softwoods outdoors with MEGA Protect 242 Wood Preservative Impregnation or MEGA Protect 184 Impregnation Stain. The wood moisture content of dimensionally stable components must not exceed 13 ± 2%. According to the guidelines for window coatings published by the Federal Committee for Paint and Property Protection, wooden components must be treated with a primer and intermediate coat on all sides before installation.
Initial coating/impregnation: MEGA 242 Protect wood preservative impregnation or MEGA 184 Protect impregnation glaze. Only for non-load-bearing woods of resistance classes 3–5, e.g., softwoods in outdoor areas.
Primer/intermediate/finish coat: MEGA 185 Protect Wood Stain Rapid. Existing coating intact: Primer and finish coat: MEGA 185 Protect Wood Stain Rapid. Existing coating not intact: Remove loose, unstable old coating. Thoroughly sand grayed and weathered wood parts.
Impregnation: Impregnate raw wood areas with MEGA 242 Protect wood protection impregnation or MEGA 184 Protect impregnation glaze.
Primer coat: Partially with MEGA 185 Protect Wood Stain Rapid Intermediate and final coat: MEGA 185 Protect Wood Stain Rapid

Thinning: Ready to apply Cleaning of tools: With MEGA 904 synthetic resin thinner Consumption: Approx. 80 ml/m² per coat Dry film thickness: DFT at 80 ml/m² under 40 µm Drying: At 20 °C and 50% relative humidity: Dust-dry: after approx. 3.5 hours Ready for recoating: after approx. 5-6 hours Drying delays must be expected with woods rich in nutrients and in cold, wet weather.
Processing temperature: Do not process below +8°C. Pay attention to dew and the surface temperature. Low temperatures and/or high humidity will delay drying and lead to surface defects.
Special notes: Use MEGA 185 Protect Wood Stain Rapid colorless outdoors only as a primer coat.
Storage: In the closed original container, stored in a dry, cool and frost-free place for at least 12 months.

Disposal instructions: Only recycle completely empty containers. Dispose of liquid material residues at the collection point for old paint/varnish. Dispose of dried material residues as construction and demolition waste or household waste.
